Layouts around the world use ballast around the trackbed .. It is used to bear the load from the railroad ties, to facilitate drainage of water, and also to keep down vegetation that might interfere with the track structure. Ballast also holds the track in place as the trains roll over it. We provide a material which perfectly resembled this real life version!
To use our product simply sprinkle down the Ultra Realistic Ballast over your track, using a soft brush remove any excess ballast off the track ties, then gently squeeze over watered down PVA and allow to dry! It's that simple! Our product works great with all weathering powders and paints, allowing you to create an even more realistic scene!

This ballast is genuine granite rock and comes in a good variety of shapes and sizes to be very realistic to the real thing! Ideal for making your layout stand out! Also takes well to dyes and oils used for weathering!
